Welcome to Heart Shape. Iâm Vince.
I am the oldest son of Georgena Grace (Eggleston). She was a Somatic Grief Therapist who passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 29, 2024.
This last year has re-defined what healing means to me. I started this page in July of 2024 to promote my work as a Grief Recovery Method Specialist. Little did I know that my new professional venture would prepare me for the greatest good-bye ever.
Now, Heart Shape is a vessel for me to share the joys of my heart; writing, teaching and cooking. These parts of my life are what help me process my grief. They are staples of my well being that I desire to share with the intention that they spark you to become curious about your journey with grief.
Each week I will share a different post from the categories listed below:
My New Mourning: Re-discovering the Gifts in Grief. How a Somatic Grief Therapistâs son uses her lessons to integrate her loss in his life.
This is a monthly essay that shares my experience with grief, both recent and past. These are draft chapters for a potential book proposal. Its intention is to be a sequel to Momâs book, âA New Mourning: Discovering the Gifts in Griefâ.
20 Minutes to Move: Movement for your Mind & Body, Heart & Soul.
This monthly video series shares my daily routines that helped me inhabit my body. I found movement of body and breath to be a key component to navigate âocean of emotionâ while surfing griefâs swell.
Daily Bread: My delicious, nutritious Go-Toâs for proper sustenance.
These monthly videos share staples from my kitchen that nourished my body when I found it hard to eat or eat something other than empty calories. Simple. Quick. Delicious.
Poetâs Corner: My poetry read to you by me. (PAID Subscribers Only)
Each month, I share text copies and audio recordings of my current works-in-progress. Writing and reading poetry became medicine for me to move my grief. Now they are a way of life. These original works by me originate from my membership in SUSTENANCE, an MFA style poetry program founded by Joy Sullivan, author of âInstructions for Traveling West.â
